
Genevieve Gallant, Executive Director
Genevieve has over 25 years of experience in public engagement and advocacy on issues that cause and perpetuate global inequalities. Before ORCIE, she lead the animation, communications, and fundraising teams at Development and Peace-Caritas Canada while driving governance renewal in a time of significant organizational change. Through her experience as a board member of Citizens for Public Justice, Our Lady of Guadalupe Circle, and KAIROS she has collaborated closely with faith communities on ecological justice and human rights.

Sasquia Antúnez Pineda, Advocacy & Communications Officer
Sasquia’s diverse background includes social justice work, education, and theology. She has led ecological justice campaigns with the organization Aire Puro in Honduras, targeting lead removal from gasoline. In Canada, at her local parish in Toronto, she led the “For Our Common Home” (2019) campaign with Development and Peace – Caritas Canada. With over seven years of teaching experience, she holds a Master of Theology and Community Development from the University of Toronto.

Sue Wilson, Chair of the Board
Dr. Sue Wilson is a Sister of St. Joseph and Executive Director of the Office for Systemic Justice for the Federation of Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada. Sue has a PhD in theology with a focus on social ethics. She has served on the boards of KAIROS, Citizens for Public Justice, London Poverty Research Centre, and the Coalition Assisting Trafficked Individuals. Sue has also written submissions and given oral interventions at UN Commissions on behalf of the global body of Sisters of St. Joseph. She currently serves as the Chair of ORCIE’s board, and member of the Executive Committee.

Joe Gunn, Treasurer
The call to do justice is described by Joe Gunn as his life’s “vocation.” He has led social justice ministries for a Catholic Archdiocese in western Canada, religious congregations of both men and women, the ecumenical charity Citizens for Public Justice, as well as (for 11 years) served as Director of the Office of Social Affairs for the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. For seven years, Joe worked in Central America. As part of the Synod on Synodality process, Joe was appointed by the Vatican to a Study Group which will report to Pope Francis in June 2025 on how to promote “the cry of the poor and the cry of the Earth.” He currently serves as the ORCIE Treasurer, and member of the Executive Committee.

Darlene O’Leary, Board Member
Dr. Darlene O’Leary is the Coordinator of the Martha Justice Ministry (Sisters of St. Martha, Antigonish) since 2020. She holds an MA in Theology from Regis College and a PhD in Theology with an Ethics concentration from Saint Paul University. Dr. O’Leary previously worked as a Socio-Economic Policy Analyst for Citizens for Public Justice in Ottawa, collaborating with politicians, religious organizations, and grassroots groups to fight poverty in Canada. She currently serves as an ORCIE board member, and a member of the Executive Committee.

Karen Kelly, Board Member
Karen has been a vowed member of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame for over 30 years and currently serves as an Associate to the Province Leader. With a master’s degree in Physics and over 25 years of experience as a high school physics teacher, she brings a deep passion for both faith and science. Karen beautifully bridges these worlds, often saying, “The Creator of the universe is truly the physicist extraordinaire… isn’t it any wonder that He is my main guy?” She currently serves as an ORCIE board member, and a member of the Executive Committee.
